An Abstract

My current research is focused on the politics of cityhood movements in urban and suburban areas of the American South.

More generally, my work engages with processes, subjects, and objects of power and knowledge. The questions that interest me tend to center around cities, race & whiteness, public education, democracy, heterodox economics, critical theory, and sports.

Some of my previous projects include critical work on common property and marine resource management in East Africa and political ecological research on conservation culture and environmentality in South Carolina farming communities.
